You say it grinds unless you double clutch it. That is how you drive a Model A. I bet most will grind at least a little if you don't double clutch. Try draining about half the 600 oil and fill it with STP. I have seen this help. In the summer months up north a lot of us use straight STP. Leaks less and no grinding as long as you double clutch.
